How it all began

PHASE ONE:

This is really where it all began. After learning about CEF from Kelly Newell we had several interviews with the NH CEF Leadership staff. The more we heard about CEF the the deeper our passion grew to reach the spiritually lost children of NH. It did not take long for both CEF of NH and the Currier family to join forces. We were accepted as Missionary Candidates or Missionaries In Training (MIT). Our first objective was to observe how Camp Good News, which is a camping ministry outreach program of Child Evangelism Fellowship, Inc. located in Charlestown, NH. We spent the summer as a family at the camp and were able to learn how this great ministry operates.

PHASE TWO:

Next, we moved onto phase two. The Leadership staff of CEF NH decided it would be a good idea to attend the Children's Ministries Institute Warrenton, Missouri. This Institute is located at the International Headquarters for Child Evangelism Fellowship, Inc. It is a 12 week mandatory college accredited Institution used to educate and equip full-time CEF Missionaries. CEF's mission is threefold: Evangelize, Disciple, Connect children with the Gospel and into a local, Bible-teaching church. I graduated from there on November 16, 2007.

PHASE THREE:

Here we are now. My job will now be to raise support for our family for the ministry. As a missionary I am responsible to raise support for the provision of my family's needs. I am so thankful for the folks who have already partnered with us in order that we may all share the fruit of our labors (3 John 7+8). I will be a spokesperson for CEF of NH and promote the ministry throughout our state. My first assignment will be in Rockingham county working with Kelly Newell to learn the job responsibilities of a local director. I will be involved with presenting the ministry to public elementary schools, pastors and congregations, and other groups who may be interested. Also, I will be an instructor of teachers who have a desire to work with children. Along with these various responsibilities, there is yet one more that is very dear to my heart. Good News Clubs. These are clubs that established in the public elementary schools of our state. Since Bibles, prayer and the ten commandments were yanked out of public schools in 1962 and 1963, it is even more important now that we bring them back to our schools through these Good News Clubs. The Supreme Court ruled on June 11, 2001, that it was unconstitutional to not allow a religious organization, such as Child Evangelism Fellowship, Inc. to meet on school property after school is out for the day and conduct a Good News Club. This is why it is so exciting. You see, now we have a chance to bring the Bible and prayer back into our children's lives. Now, instead of opening the day with a quick prayer and maybe a familiar verse the Bible we have the ability to bring the Gospel into the schools for an hour and a half each week. Wow! This is where my passion lies. There are approximately 440 public elementary schools in the state of NH. Good News Clubs are presently meeting in about 85 of them. Not Bad, but there is still a long way to go. In a nutshell: Phase 1 - Learn Camp Good News Ministry. Phase 2 - Graduate from CMI. Phase 3 - Raise support funds / Begin the ministry of CEF NH.
