Working out the kinks

"Down to the basement and do 100 jumping jacks!!" The kids know when Mom says that, they'd better do it and they'd better come back upstairs with all the kinks worked out! (Not to mention with a lot less energy than when they went down!) Sometimes just going about daily life, you find times when you need to stop, reevaluate and maybe fix some things in order to keep things going smoothly. That happens quite often with the kids, but it happens with me too.

It is time for me to take a good look at where I'm going with the ministry of CEF. I can't even begin to say how exciting it is to see all the opportunities there are right now for reaching the kids in our local area. There are 5 after-school Good News Clubs starting just this month! There is one starting at the Salvation Army in Manchester and I am especially thrilled with that one. Since my parents live in Manchester, I have often driven through some of the neighborhoods and seen the children that "hang out" in the streets The hopeless looks in their eyes have not escaped my notice. With a club at the Salvation Army, what a chance to offer Hope to the hopeless!

Although I feel like I could spend 100% of my time helping to start clubs, and reaching out to kids with the good news of Jesus (that IS my passion!), I realize that my number one priority is to my family. I need to be able to financially support my family. I have not done very much support raising and it is now time to somehow figure that in to the equation. I believe that I will be needing to spend more time in actual support raising. I am praying that God will give me wisdom to know how to balance that with ministry. I need to be going to churches as well as set up times to meet with individuals to present the ministry and ask for support. It's never very comfortable, but in order for my family and I to be able to serve God in this way, it is a necessity.

Please, please, pray for us about this!
