Matt took Alissa, Caleb and Cameron along with Ethan and Jeremiah B. to a chess tournament today. They had a great time! Cameron ended up going undefeated in the Open and took second place overall. Unfortunatly he had to play Caleb.... Caleb and Alissa did very well also. All of them should see their US Chess Federation ratings go up. Matt promised Alissa he'd show her lots of new things in chess this week. She is still a beginner. The excitement over going to a chess tournament is pretty unbelievable! These kids work hard...it requires SO much thinking! Caleb at 6 years old is no longer allowed to play in the novice section. He mostly plays now against highschoolers. I'm so proud of all of them! They CERTAINLY didn't get their chess playing abilities from their mom :)
