Since we are going to be gone to Rumney on Cam's birthday, we celebrated this afternoon with my family. He was thrilled to get a Celtics shirt. He's been really into basketball lately.
The big event was the small gift wrapped box that had a note in it to "look behind the couch". When he did, he was so excited! It was a gun from Grandpops. I guess my little boy really IS growing up! Although (much to Cameron's GREAT disappointment) we will for the time being be keeping the gun at my parents house, Cam will start right away learning and memorizing gun and hunter safety rules. My dad will be teaching him how to shoot and handle a gun, and the hope is that he will soon be able to hunt with him! (For anyone who is concerned, we realize that a gun is not a toy and can be very dangerous. My dad is responsible and extremely cautious and Cameron has proven himself to be the same. )
It was a fun afternoon and Cameron enjoyed his early birthday :)
