We started school on Tuesday. It felt so good to get back into a routine! This year I am teaching grades K, 2, 4, 6 and 8. It will be quite a challege, but the kids have such good attitudes and are great to work with. I love being able to teach them! I so enjoy the time spent with them everyday. It is a privilege to be a mom and one I am grateful for and take seriously. Yesterday I was reading "Farmer Boy" to them when something I read struck me as funny. I started to laugh a little and that was all it took to get Cameron laughing. Before I knew it, all the kids (except Leah!) were laughing so hard! I had mascara running down my face and it took us about 5 minutes to compose ourselves! I'm sure it's something we'll all remember in the future. Laughing is something that we try to do a lot of..... it sure beats crying!

One thing we're doing differently this school year is teaching history and science with all the kids together. I am teaching History and although I'm teaching all of them together they have different projects and assignments according to age. I decided to have Brianna teach Science. I figured if she can teach it, she knows it. I gave her the book I wanted her to use and she studied the lessons. We're alternating days with History and Science and when it was her turn I was absolutely amazed. She had everything ready. The kids each had a notebook and pen ready for them, she had all her object lessons ready. I was impressed. And then she started teaching. I learned so much! She did a super job and had all 4 kids interacting and writing in their notebooks. They learned all the material. Alissa and Cam both told her how much fun they had and thanked her for teaching them! What a great thing :)
