beth moore and leah

Beth Moore is my all time favorite "famous" person. She is an amazing writer and speaker and I consider her one of my biggest mentors. I was thrilled when I found out (way back in January) that she was going to be in NH. Last night she was at the Whittemore Center at UNH and my Bri, Leah, my mom, my sisters and I went to see her. There were over a thousand women there! Travis Cotrell and his worship team lead an amazing worship time. Before Beth began her speaking, she got off the stage and walked the aisles. We had a good seat, so we were in her "range". I was sitting on the end of the row and had Leah in my lap. Beth was walking down the aisle, took one look at Leah and came right to her and took her right out of my arms! She held her, talked to her and I'm not sure what else since I was so excited to be so close to Beth and watch her hold my baby! Anyway, my quick-thinking sister Melanie grabbed her camera and snapped some shots :)

Aside from the "excited fan" aspect, I was so challenged by the conference last night. Beth's love for the Lord and her RELATIONSHIP with Him is extremely contagious. I want it! And, I know I can have it! God made me for a relationship with Him which I can have through Jesus. Reading His Word (which is alive and active!), talking to Him, making the choices (big and small) that I know He wants me to make leads to a life that brings peace and joy no matter what the circumstances. I love my God!
