Our oldest daughter turned 13 today. Wow! I can speak for both Matt and myself when I say that we are both so very proud of Brianna. She is a beautiful girl both inside and out!
She is so helpful to me and to our whole family. She can make a meal, change a diaper, help with school, babysit, make a grocery list, play with a child who needs something to do!, and much more. The greatest thing about all that is her willingness and great attitude toward being helfpul.
Not only is she helpful but she is also so loving and kind. She selflessly thinks of others and always has a kind word or action for me, Matt, the other kids, friends and even strangers!
She is also SO FUN! I have so much fun with her! We laugh together so much. Hearing her recount a story of something that happened to her often makes me cry laughing. Ever asked her about her and my "boating" experience in Missouri? How about her changing Leah's diaper while I was out? Even the most routine experience, when told by Brianna can be the funniest thing you've ever heard!
She has such a heart for God. She is daily reading her Bible and ALWAYS looking for chances to tell others about her faith in God. Just tonight in fact, she led a new found teen age friend to the Lord!
We are thankful for Brianna today- and every day :)

OK, you know I just have to remind you that it was 13 years ago that I got a Thanksgiving day call to head for the hospital. And that my only claim to fame is that I WAS THERE WHEN SHE WAS BORN! I know Brianna is sick of hearing that story.....but, I was honored to be a part (on behalf of her REAL grandmama).
