morning routine

This is my morning routine. Leah wakes up to eat and I take
her out to the family room. I get myself a cup of coffee (yae for eggnog creamer being out now!!), I put on Sky Angel and go to an all worship radio station to listen to while I feed the baby. After she's fed, I put her in her seat, turn down the music and read my Bible while I rock Leah in her seat with my foot!
This morning I read 2 Corinthians 5 and 6 since my sister recommended it :) I was supposed to read in in the NLT, but read it out of the NIV instead. (I'll read it in the NLT later, Rachelle!) I read much of it out loud to Leah while she smiled away. You can't start too early in giving your kids the Word! Anyway, it was very good. So much in those 2 chapters, I couldn't decide what to be MOST convicted/challenged about. Verse 9 of chapter 5 says "so we make it our goal to please Him". Not myself, my husband, my children, my friends but HIM. Of course in doing that I will be much more pleasing to others, but my goal needs to be to please God.
I love God's Word!!!! I love knowing that it is Truth. Since God created me and the whole world (not in that order) He knows what's best for me. When I do things His way I am ALWAYS happier. It's when I think I know best or even just choose to do things my way that I feel discouraged, unhappy or just have no peace. Forget the eggnog creamer, Yae for the truth!
Well, time to get ready for the day. There's bread to be made, kids to wake up, breakfast to be eaten and since I have a friend coming over today, there is spice cake to be made!

Thanks for sharing, Erika. You're right - God's Word is so powerful. What a blessing to start our days by immersing ourselves in it! Now, where's the picture of you reading your Bible? :)

I agree with Rachelle! On the scripture suggestion and the peppermint mocha. It sounds really gross (the creamer not the scripture!) but it is great!!!!
