CYIA reunion and recruitment

Last Saturday we had an event that was so cool. We all here at CEF of NH decided to start planning early for our summer missionary program- Christian Youth in Action. It takes time for each applicant to be interviewed, references called, checks done and all the paperwork completed. On top of that, each summer missionary has to raise their money for training camp. SO, we had a reunion (last years sm's) and recruitment ("bring a friend"). It was held at a church and involved games, pizza, worship time, CYIA explanation and presentation and testimonies from previous missionaries.

We had such a great time! It is so nice to be around teenagers who love the Lord and are seriously considering spending their summer teaching kids about God! These teens are great. Bri was there to see her friends from the summer and to get a jump start on her next summer application. Matt was there to do the presentation and because he's overseeing the whole operation this year. I was there because I'm with Matt. Leah was there because she goes wherever I go and the other kiddos were just there to have a good time!

I just have to mention Bethany! She and Matt work so well together and she is amazing at what she does. She puts together all the curriculum, training workshops, CYIA paperwork, CYIA training camp material and so so so so much more. She did the planning of this event and did a super job. We feel that she is such a part of our family that when my nephews came over the other day, Drewie had to take Riley down to introduce him to "Miss Bethany". When I asked him later why he did that, he said "He didn't know who she was!". Imagine that! It was that simple. I guess I know how he feels and that's why I have to make sure all of YOU know "Miss Bethany" too :)
