My grandmother has meant the world to me since I was a little girl. We've been close for as long as I can remember. I have wonderful memories of times spent with her and Grampy. As a little girl I remember playing dress up with her high heels, eating chocolate chip ice cream in her tupperware pudding cups, watching Judge Wapner with her and Grampy in their bedroom, playing house with Rachelle using Gram's vanity and all her Avon samples, hiding behind Grampy's chair in the small space between the chair and the wall, riding in the wheelbarrow when she was gardening, riding to school with her when she worked in the lunchroom, sitting next to her in church while she rubbed my back or arm . When I had graduated from highschool and was engaged to be married to Matt, I stayed with Gram and Grampy in South Carolina while Matt and I planned our wedding and had pre-marital counseling. (That time was spent watching the OJ trial with the tv turned up dreadfully loud so Grampy could hear!) Gram and I spent time "Sweatin' to the Oldies" with Richard Simmons and watching old Debbie Reynolds movies.
Once Matt and I got married and lived in South Carolina, Gram was at the hospital when Brianna was born and even spent a couple of nights at our house to help me with the baby. All through the years we have stayed close. I love her so much and thank God for a grandmother who loves God and loves me.
She lives in Texas now so when she comes to visit I really appreciate time spent with her.
