Cameron

I just have to take this time to say a word about Cameron. He turned 12 yesterday, which in itself is hard to believe. I remember clearly when it came time for him to be born. He came right on his due date- which actually defines part of his personality. On time! He hates to be late and is always concerned about doing the right thing. When I told Matt it was time, he called my parents who lived next door at the time. Since it was the middle of the night, the plan was for my Dad to walk Melanie over so she could stay with Brianna. Well, my parents had turned the ringer off on the phone because my great grandmother was visiting and when she took a nap they didn't want her sleep disturbed. They forgot to turn it back on! So, after a few unsuccessful attempts at getting in touch with them (and with my contractions getting closer together) he decided to walk over and get them. They didn't respond to knocking so he had to go outside their bedroom window and knock on it! There wasn't too much time to waste because Cam was born only an hour after I arrived at the hospital.

Cameron is so nice to have around. For one thing he is so much fun. He loves to joke and can take a joke without getting upset. He has a real servants heart too. Always looking for ways he can be of help to someone. He is a rule keeper. In other words, he hates to break a rule! That not only makes him trustworthy but is a great example to the other kids. He loves God. He loves chess, football, track, basketball and soccer. He loves music. He loves the Left Behind kids books, the Hardy Boys and many other books. He reads his Bible every day and encourages others to do the same. He is extremely honest and has challenged Matt and I both with a lot of things to think about. He is easy going and friendly. Matt and I are so thankful for him! He is a great young man! We pray everyday for him that he will grow to love the Lord with all his heart, soul and mind. That he will grow in wisdom, in stature and in favor with God and man. That he will seek to please God in all that he does and that he will love God's Word and believe with all his heart that is is truth and contains all the answers to any of life's questions.
