first day

Matt's first official day as Local Coordinator for Greater Richmond was yesterday. He had a meeting with the chairman of the board and the State Director. He was so excited after the meeting! He was given maps of the area, with the challenge of beginning to develop ministry in 2 different counties. Along with the maps, he was given printouts of the elementary schools in those areas with a breakdown of number of students and their ethnicity. Corresponding with that list was a list of churches in the area, pastors name, church website, e-mail address, physical address, phone # and other information. One of the tips he was given was, for example, if one particular school has a very high percentage of hispanic students, target a church that has a hispanic ministry to match with that school. Matt will be meeting with a lot of pastors in the coming weeks and months.
Today he has a meeting with another CEF staff member. Please pray as Matt works with a couple of others to develop a strategic plan to effectively reach the kids in this area.
The master bedroom has a huge walk-in closet that Matt will at this time be using as his office. It has a nice window and even an AC vent! (Note his missing laptop. Unfortunately it is not working, so we are praying that God will provide for that need.)
