Christmas Day

Christmas Day was a very nice and quiet day. We spent the whole day at home together and ended it with a birthday cake for Jesus. (made by Alissa!)
I felt a lot like the Mary of the Bible this whole Christmas season- "but Mary treasured all these things and pondered them in her heart". From the trip to "Bethlehem", to the many prayers and gifts to our family demonstrating God's love to us, to the sweet lady who watched Leah in the nursery during the Christmas Eve service, to the way that Leah played with baby Jesus in the manger, to the advent devotions done on video by Nanny, to the reading of the Christmas story on Christmas morning.... It was a very special season, a very special day and there were and are lots of things for me to treasure up and ponder in my heart.

I can relate Erica! We tried to keep it simple and it was so much more enjoyable that way! We had our birthday party on Christmas eve. Ours was the shape of a Christmas Tree. Other activities this Christmas season included: making a gingerbread house, caroling, making cookie cans for our neighbors and doing a fundraiser for a needy family. I think it will be a year that the kids hopefully won't forget!
