I am usually a better blogger. I didn't realize the energy it took to 1-do something worth blogging about and 2- sit down and actually blog!
I am about 6 weeks away from our baby being born and maybe this once a week blogging thing will just be how it goes for a while! I am thankful for my doctor appointment on Friday and the fact that the baby's heartbeat is good and he is seemingly growing like he should. BUT, this pregnancy has taken a lot out of me and I have had to change a lot of things.
This quiche? Took me about 15 minutes to prepare before going into the oven. Well, it took me about an hour to recover from making it! Something I am NOT used to. I have to make decisions about everything I do and if it will be worth it to do if I have to sit for an hour afterward.
Matt and the kids have been so great. They are helpful and caring so that makes a big difference. In some ways life is still busy, busy, busy. I still have to school 5 kids- we just start school later, take more breaks and go longer! Brianna and Cameron still do childcare on Tuesdays, Brianna tutors once a week and also helps out with MOPS. She has writing class on Wednesdays and of course the other kids have AWANA and Bible study on Wed nights. Church is Sunday. Those things keep going on. I had no idea though how much I usually do. I didn't pay attention to the fact that almost every meal and snack I make are from scratch- I just did it! I had no idea how many times a day I go up the stairs or just get up from sitting down. (what am I, 90?!)
The neat thing is that my sister texted me yesterday and asked if I had read that days devotional from Streams in the Desert. Then, in the afternoon my friend e-mailed me and said she thought of me when she read the very same thing! I read it this morning and was thankful for God's care in my life. He had two people point out something to me that I am sure He wanted me to hear. I copied it here.
All that to say I decided to post pictures of what we've been doing even if it's not anything super exciting!
Alissa is working on her latch hook project. I SOOOO want her to finish it since I never finished the one I got for Christmas when I was 8!

Cameron is trying to conquer the Rubik's Cube. He watched a video on how to solve the whole thing, but it is pretty complicated and will take a while. He'll do it though- I'm sure :)

Matt is feeding Leah a snack of bananas, milk and grapenuts. She eats anything he feeds her! In her highchair....a different story.

Brianna has applied to go to Salt Lake City, UT this summer for Good News Across America. Since she will need to raise support and get lots of prayer partners, she is working on a prayer card to send to people. This is one of the pictures I took of her that MAY be the one to go on her card!

After church on Sunday, instead of the usual pizza, we had sandwiches.

And, when all else fails, we can always sit around and just watch the sunset! It's good to be reminded that "the heavens declare the glory of God". After all, HE is what this life is all about!
