What a night!!! What an EXCITING night! We arrived at the Salvation Army with plenty of time to set up, eat dinner with the kids, and get back to our GNC room just before the kids started coming in. We had 18 kids show up. It was a very neat group. They come from all sorts of ethnic backgrounds. Besides Matt and I we had Ruthie, Kelly, Michelle and Andy to help. With a rowdy group like we had, all the help we had was great! I was absolutely amazed at how quiet it was when Ruthie told the Bible story. They were completely absorbed in the story line! I almost got chills while I was watching the little boy I was sitting next to. I felt like God was just right there, drawing the boy to Himself. He was so upset to hear that his sin (which when he heard Ruthie say that everyone sins, he said aloud, "Epsecially me!") would separate him from God forever. He didn't make a decision for salvation last night, but I am praying so hard that he will return next Tuesday night and that he will make that most important decision then!
There were at least 2 kids that got saved (Praise the Lord!) and a few more that went back for counseling. I was so happy with Cameron's reaction to the club. He was able to be a part of the club (as a clubber) but was so in tune with the salvation need of the kids around him. He whispered to me as club was ending, " I want him (the boy sitting next to me) to get saved so bad!". Oh I'm so thankful for children with a heart to see others come to know Jesus!
We were all so encouraged as we saw God at work in these kids' lives. They are all so precious! We look forward to see what happens next week :)
