breakfast at church

We love our church.....for more reasons than one! One of the reasons is the wonderful breakfast we get every Sunday. Mr Fernie and Mr Wheeler offer eggs any way you want them (even catering to Matt's egg white omelettes!), bacon, hash browns, french toast, pancakes, donuts, cold cereal, oatmeal, baked beans, hot drinks, juices, and even my kids' favorite....chocolate milk. We usually go to the early service so we get to church around 7:45 (getting everyone out the door with their Bibles AND looking presentable is no small feat!), eat breakfast, go to church then go to Sunday School. We usually have a big dinner on Saturday night that the whole family looks forward to. Then Sunday afternoons we have leftovers or sandwiches. We used to have a big meal on Sunday, but we have been working on making Sunday more of a day of rest. Amazing how just having a simpler meal makes such a difference!
This coming week Matt will be working more on raising our support and contacting pastors. He also has teacher training to study for and of course the Salvation Army Good News Club. (Last week was cancelled due to the weather) Lots to look foward to! I'm thankful for a restful weekend and a great worship service this morning to give us a great start to our week!
