football in the rain

The boys have different names for their football escapades. If the ground is muddy they call their game "smear bowl". BUT, if it is pouring down rain it is called a "death bowl". Why? I do not know. But when school was done and it started to pour out the boys begged to be allowed to go outside and play the death bowl. Most likely due to insanity, I agreed.
