prayer for the new week

Last week? It was not a very good week for me. It was very challenging in so many ways. Tonight, Sunday night, I am looking ahead to tomorrow as the start of a new week. I want to learn from last week's mistakes and let God wipe the slate clean and help me to start fresh.
I was overwhelmed as I began to plan for the week.

Matt gave me some quiet time in our room to work while he supervised the kids' chores, spent some time with them and then put them to bed. My headache was bothering me and I felt so anxious, overwhelmed, and defeated. I stopped to pray. The Lord reminded me of some verses I had read this morning and written in my journal.

He gave me the strength to do the planning that I needed and reminded me too that His mercies are new every morning- Great is His faithfulness!

I plan to start my morning early tomorrow having my coffee with Jesus.

These verses will be ones that will give me hope and encouragement for the week to come!
Isaiah 40
28Do you not know? Have you not heard?
The Everlasting God, the LORD, the Creator of the ends of the earth
Does not become weary or tired
His understanding is inscrutable.
29He gives strength to the weary,
And to him who lacks might He increases power.
30Though youths grow weary and tired,
And vigorous young men stumble badly,
31Yet those who wait for the LORD
Will gain new strength;
They will mount up with wings like eagles,
They will run and not get tired,
They will walk and not become weary.
